Cornell was Santa in the Kindergarten play of "The Night Before Christmas" last night. It was as adorable as expected with an uncharacteristically short, skinny Santa bounding out of a homemade fireplace to claps and cheers. He shook his belly, crinkled his eyes and put a finger aside his nose at just the right parts.
Later that night, after much congratulating and generally making a big deal over him, I commented that I could pinch his rosy Santa cheeks and rub his bowl full of jelly belly.
Cornell mentioned that I forgot about his twinkly Santa eyes.
And then added, "I bet Santa's feet are thinking: 'Hey, what are we? Chopped Liver?!'"
