Conway and I are staying in today. We are cleaning house, doing laundry and playing Monster Tickle Bodyslam. You have to be a kid in our house to know this game, and it rocks!
On a whim, we decided to make a homemade devil's food chocolate cake with chocolate ganache icing for Family Dinner Night. Every Wednesday night, all the family (sisters, brothers-in-law, parents and cousins) get together at Mom and Pop's house for dinner. Conway and I volunteered to make dinner since we were staying home today. Why not start with dessert?!
Alas, not one egg in the fridge and we needed 5! What to do. Well, if you are hippie chic like us, you just take your cute little basket up to the chicken coop and find some. I walked over the cobblestone entrance and found two in the coop. A quick search of the yard found one in the shed, one in the yucca plant and a final one in the strawberry pot by the front door. I love chickens who literally leave them at your doorstep! Talk about lazy farming.
So, we are off to make a sinful chocolate cake with our organic, fresh eggs. If it weren't for the patchouli and no bra, I could get into being a hippie.
