Growing Up

This morning, Conway woke up early. Cornell was lying next to me in bed; he came to our bed around 2am complaining that he was cold. While Hubby took Conway into the living room to watch some early morning Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, I asked Cornell if he wanted to watch cartoons or stay in bed.

He was lying on his stomach, and propped himself up on one hand while looking deep in thought. He said, "Hmmm, that's a tough decision." He added an explanation of his dilemma, "If I go watch cartoons, I will lose all my warm and have to make more on the couch".

After another minute of hemming and hawing, he decided on 5 more minutes of warm bed and then cartoons.

Such grown up decision making skills from a 6 year old. Sadly, I don't believe they will translate to other topics like why it is good for him to brush his teeth every day.
